The Hardest Part…
Did I catch your attention with that title? A (small) part of me hopes so and the other (huge) part feels all squirmy and weird. Emotions aside, I can say that it’s a very honest heading because hands down the hardest part of writing for me is promotion. I love dreaming up new stories, getting to know characters, putting pen to paper, and editing. There’s a tiny, masochistic part of me that even enjoys bad reviews because I feel like I need to toughen up and take my punches–handling critique with grace feels like an exercise in integrity. But self-promotion? UGH.
Buy this, like me, pay attention!

So, let’s get this over with fast and get back to what we love: dreaming and sharing and changing and growing. Here’s the scoop: my newest release, THE BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTERS, is on sale. For a limited time you can download the e-book for only $2.99. [Choose your own cheesy quip: That’s less than the price of a latte! Hours of entertainment for only $3! Who knew you could buy utter genius for a handful of quarters?! — Okay, that last one is pushing it a bit, but you get the idea.]
Anyway, we’re trying to get the word out, so I’m also guest posting on several blogs and hoping to drum up interest. You can find me this week on:
WriterUnboxed talking about taking yourself seriously (A Manifesto for NOT Writing in Your Pajamas)
CathyLamb.org waxing poetic on writing and advice for debut novelists
More to come! I’ll update as posts go live.
Well, this didn’t feel like much of a #MuseMonday, friends, but it’s where I had to land today. I truly do love this book and feel passionate about the themes I addressed throughout its pages. Friendship, forgiveness, loss, and love… Adri and Harper are two sides of the same coin and they both have to find a way to let go of the past, of the guilt that shackles them, and move on in grace. Isn’t starting over just the most gorgeous thing? THE BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTERS is all about fresh beginnings. I hope you have the chance to check it out. And I hope that you love it.
Thanks for reading, friends.
