Invisible Children

An amazing young woman in my life recently alerted me to Invisible Children, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of kids who have been forced to fight in bloody wars. Though this group is focused primarily on Uganda, child soldiers have been used in countries throughout Africa, including Liberia where a piece of my heart has a permanent home. (If you’d like to read more about that particular horror, here is a heartbreaking article outlining the continued suffering of these children.) I dare you to remain unmoved.

Anyway, today (April 25) is Invisible Children’s Break the Silence event, a 25 hour vow of silence that some 91,000 participants have committed to. They’ve already raised $1.5 million dollars, but the day isn’t over yet! I encourage you to click through one of the links I’ve included, watch the videos, get involved. A $25 donation ($1 for every hour that someone has remained silent for those who do not have a voice) would go so far…

What a perfect way to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus — to live a life of restoration. Of incarnation.
